RV News - Washington RV Park to Close - Source The Longview Daily News LONGVIEW, Wash. -- The Kalama Port Commissioners voted unanimously Wednesday to close Louis Rasmussen RV park, to expand the day-use area of the park and make room for more outdoor recreation activities.

The popular park, built in 1981 on the Columbia River just south of the Kalama Marina, is now obsolete, and commissioners were faced with upgrading the park or expanding other areas of the park.

Planned projects in the Waterfront Redevelopment Plan include adding additional picnic shelters and tables, interpretive panels near the totem pole, increasing accessibility for outdoor recreation enthusiasts and possibly adding a waterfront restaurant.
